Nobody is going to use a coat hanger to conduct an illegal third trimester abortion. The fetus is too large to remove using a coat hanger even in pieces at about 18-20 weeks (second trimester), when the bones get too hard. Abortionists need more advanced tools to dilate the cervix and rip the fetus into pieces and remove it.

By the third trimester, even that won't work because the skull is too big and too hard, which is why only a very skilled abortionist will be able to puncture the skull of the fetus and remove the brains, so that the skull can collapse and be removed.

The alternative method would be to use C-section, but that would deliver the baby intact and alive, and who wants that?
