I've been thinking about SI and my relationship with it. I first came looking for stock information, Uncle Frank tapped me on the shoulder about QCOM and I think that's how I ran into Lindy. I'm not particularly political, voted (believed it mattered) for McGovern in my first election.
During one stretch I voted exclusively for women, not because i agreed with their positions (I didn't bother to find out) but because they never won and they might feel one vote less bad the day after. Regardless, I got more interested in politics as it affected my investing.
I don't know why I started this, I don't think I'll finish, kind of me debriefing myself or a post mortem. I ran into the info that isopatch's kid had died at the age of 35. Suddenly. He's on ignore (I tend to return the favor) so it was random, me noticing. Made me sad.
Ran into info that maybe 200,000 Ukrainians soldiers dead. Russian regular army maybe 18,000 dead, mercenaries another 18,000. Roughly. Made me angry. D. Long made a bullshit move. Turn the other cheek, wear life like a loose cloak.
SI used to be a good source of information, I think what started this is the skinowski link to the frankw1900 post. Good article. I almost didn't read it, having a sore spot about that thread, then I thought about that. What if I hadn't read it, so what. The internet is robust enough these days so that I can browse topics from thirty or forty content providers, most of what I see on SI (Bannon, Bongino, Tucker) I can find in the original myself, if I don't see it one place I'll see it another.
Long and short of it is that I'm reviewing my internet time. As is, I run into something interesting and think to bring it to SI. Like a little kid bringing dandelions to his mom. And then I wonder why bother, I know what I think about it and don't have a great need for others to know my thoughts.
And yet I am posting this.....
