I have followed this Delay story for months now. I have come to the conclusion that Tom Delay has done nothing specifically against the rules and further that he has done LESS then many of those self rightous complainers are guilty of themselves. Reminds me of the parable, "let he who is without sin, cast the first stone". Personally, I think the rules are too lenient and these politicians take too many trips that are suspicious in nature to begin with. (Remember the Clinton family travelling all over the world at taxpayer expense). But, I dont think Delay is any more guilty then the average and maybe less so.
As to discontent, I see he has raised 400,000 in first quarter from his district, so I suspect people are not as discontent as the NYT would have you believe. jdn
