The newest and most radically designed PDA is the Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC. This 32MB model costs $100 less than other Pocket PCs with equal memory and has the fastest CPU (206 MHz). The only glaring omission is that it lacks an expansion slot. A $30 coupon will save you money on the $40 CF Expansion Pack or the $150 PC Card Expansion Pack, either of which snaps onto the PDA. A CDPD wireless bundle with Infowave and Sierra Wireless should be available by the end of this summer.

Among all PDAs, the iPAQ has the best display: a backlit, reflective TFT with five levels of brightness for indoor or nighttime use. At the highest setting, the screen can almost work as a flashlight -- an amazing testament to its brightness and ability to look good in all lighting conditions.
