"Pinocchio". .............during the war

I saw it at Seattle's Liberty Theater, opposite the Public Market, probably late '45.

It was one of my finest days ever to that point.

My Ma made me wear a little brown beanie that I absolutely hated. In an early act of filial defiance I hid it under the seat during the showing and never had to endure the damn thing again.

Another thing I remember; the line to get in stretched around the block once plus. We probably stood through two showings to get in. For some reason I recall a couple swabbies asking my old man if we were queued for nylons or some such.

The movie was pretty good, too.
