I use Silicon Investor for identifying investments of interest. A method of identifying these equities is bookmarking people that appear to have investment objectives similar to mine and looking at the sites they post too.
This provides some information, but only provides information if they POST to a thread.
There are 2 features that would be useful in mining Silicon Investor for equity targets.
1. Allow, in aggregate, a list of threads that are bookmarked by the people you have bookmarked. In aggregate because a poster takes an action, posting, to identify that they have an interest in a thread. Just bookmarking it does not make it public. Because of privacy issues, there should be minimums applied. For example, 5 people bookmarked (only used for an example, more or less is up to you) would allow an aggregate list of threads bookmarked. This would allow us to see all like minded people have bookmarked without knowing specifically what any individual has bookmarked.
2. An aggregate list of threads bookmarked, with frequencies, by people that have a thread bookmarked. For example, a sorted list, by number of bookmarks, of all threads bookmarked by all users that have bookmarked this thread. This would allow a user to learn about the aggregate interests of the people that are interested in this thread.
Thanks,
Ira
ps: Add bookmarked and bookmarking as a valid words in the spell checker. <ggg> |
