What happens in Iraq in the next 2 years will determine the electability of candidates for President. If Iraq gets botched then McCain's chances are slim. American would then be looking for someone with demonstrated foreign policy experience and Gore's prospect rises. Along with that Hillary's prospect rises also because of her experience during Bill's tenure and her familiarity with world leaders when she met with them as first lady.

Guiliani and Obama's prospect increase if Iraq results in a solution acceptable to the Americans.

The Americans have indicated their choice in Nov 2006. We know that it was greatly influenced by Iraq and it will continue to dominate their attention during President 2008.
