Photo credit: Andrew H. Walker/Getty Images The parents of Trayvon Martin have been saluted by Ebony magazine. Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton were named Ebony Power 100 honorees. So was Benjamin Crump, their attorney, at a celebration last week in New York. The Power 100 title salutes African-Americans who represent power in innovative, determined and world-changing ways, according to Ebony. Other honorees include Tom Joyner and golfer Ginger Howard. Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton have become activists since their son was fatally shot in February in Sanford. George Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder in the teen’s death. The Power 100 event will be described in the December/January edition of the magazine that hits newsstands on Friday. The gala at Lincoln Center featured performances by the Roots, the Abyssinian Baptist Church Choir, violinist Brendon Elliott and the cast of “Fela!”
