YES!!!!

That's exactly what's happening. People who are in their 40's and 50's are saving more and more in their 401K's and other forms of defined contribution retirement plans. And don't forget IRA's and Keogh's, SEAP's, etc. Example - here in my office, people were contributing 2% - 4% to their 401K's. During the past year, many have increased this to 8% - 10%. Their is also employer matches, which in some cases, increase with greater contributions. These people aren't going to withdraw their money if the market turns downward. They are in for the long haul.
