Steve, since you are a computer pro, do you have any general advice on how I should approach the task of upgrading my hard drive? I have a 486DX2, by CompuAdd Express, with a 340meg drive. The drive has never given any problems, and I do preventive maintenance with Spinrite, but I'd like to get a larger drive.

Is Western Digital the best, for IDE drives, in your opinion?

Do you know anything about the company, Dirt Cheap Drives (they have a big ad in Windows magazine)?

I have extra slots that will take another drive, I think. Should I install a second drive and keep two? I'd like to make the larger, newer drive the one the computer boots from.

John
