I find the use of bigotry charges to be both insulting and a means of dodging an argument.

Deliberately planning to split kids between households with two or more "mothers" or "fathers" in each before they're conceived seems like reckless social engineering totally indifferent to what is good for children to me.

And this is not a scare-mongering charge thought up by conservative critics. It is explicitly called for by the leaders and supporters of the LGBT rights movement:

I know it can be said we already have children with parents split between households by divorce. And this is bad for children we all know.

Some would say: why should we object to more such bad situations for children being created - this time deliberately planned from the git-go by groups of couples who intentionally create and raise children in multiple households? It's only fair if present married couples are harming their kids by divorce, why shouldn't groups of gay folks, polygamists, and group marriage folks get to do the same? Why its downright hateful to deny them the same rights!

I'm sure you can see the logical and ethical problems with this argument. How can one reconcile a moralistic critique of (some) current marriages with a call for "anything goes" for a new class of multiple marriage?

One can't. Honestly, that is. One can always pretend to be concerned with moral issues, of course, in order to condemn the real target, the traditional family.

We need to watch out for contradictory arguments for something - they are a tipoff that dishonesty is going on.
