Lt. Ilario Pantano Resigns By Kevin Aylward Wizbang Kit Jarrell of Euphoric Reality reports that 2nd Lt. Ilario Pantano's, the former Wall Street trader who rejoined the Marines after the Sept. 11 attacks and was accused of murdering two suspected Iraqi insurgent prisoners, is resigning his commission. An Article 32 investigation cleared Lt. Pantano of the charge (which carried the death penalty), but what he described as "one hell of a year" has caused him to leave his beloved Corps to take care of his family. The injustice done to him was profound, but after enduring a year of slanderous personifications and media coverage he's leaving with the class befitting a man held in such high esteem by friends, supporters, and his brothers in arms.
