OT Jim, re: <CLint has "saved" us with his quick fix...>

I liked this quote from MSNBC's Web site:

msnbc.com

HE WROTE THE BOOK

In making his petroleum reserve announcement Thursday, Gore, our most environmentally-conscious major public official actually said, “People should be able to get in their cars and drive where they want, when they want, at a low price.”

But on page 326 of his alarmist book, “Earth in the Balance,” published in 1992, Gore wrote: “Today, we must recognize that our heavy reliance on cars as our primary means of transportation accounts for a large proportion of the carbon dioxide emitted in the atmosphere from the industrial world. Objectively, it makes little sense for each of us to burn up all the energy necessary to travel with several thousands pounds of metal wherever we go...”

This isn’t hypocrisy, these are the statements of a man who apparently can’t hold a consistent view if it’s not to his advantage.

I wonder what Scumbria would say about this. According to him, isn't Gore supposed to be the man that will save us from overconsumption of oil?
