Hello, I'm new to this thread.
Is there anyone out there familiar with a concept called Bursting?
GG writes ( it is likely that perhaps 80 % of all multimedia will be sent
in Burst mode with a store and forward protocol, rather than
isochronously in real time. ) However to date the big players seem
bent on real-time delievery via streaming. There is a very small co
called Instant Vidio, ticker IVDO, they claim to have a software
solution called Burstware which is heavily protected by patents. This
Burstware, I believe, is what Mr Gilder was refering to. To date IVDO
has conducted trials with some (heavies) but with no published
results as of date. My question, any opinions as to the merits of
burst transmission, and any opinions on IVDO as a possible player.

Good day

Henry
