[MY take for what it's worth] First my actions, then my opinions. This week, I sold what I had left of AMTX when the announcement came out. As far as I am concerned, the party is over, TI will probably close. I don't want to have dead money till it gets consumated. On the same day I commenced shorting WSTL short term. I know their are many arguments to the contrary on AMTX / WSTL threads but my gut feel was that the AMTX / WSTL deal would have been better for WSTL than what has transpired. Now there is uncertainty. However, today the price seems to be really stuck on 16 3/4 on moderate volume (daily average reached in morning already). I will probably lose on what I have short right now (because I got a !@#$%!$!%$@^ execution, I placed with current bid at 16 15/16 and got 16 3/16, another story). So, if you agree with bill c. et al, this could be good entry point. I think WSTL was selling for more before AMTX merger was announced so theoretically, if you take it all at face value, then WSTL has net gain from what has happened (see last 20 bill c. posts). Finally, I am maintaining a medium term position in ORCTF now. They are making profit and have good upside in my opinion. Pure play in XDSL at least. Also, I have never found AWRE that attractive. I tried to short them on their latest announcement but never got filled. They seem be in 10 -12 range. ALL my little opinions. MB
