Re : skipping free long distance, because quality of wireless handsets still not as good as you would wish --

If you are using an old clunker handset, buy a new one (with an MSM 5000 chip) (or higher) (such as the Kyocera 2255).

Then, figure that the money you spent on the new handset will be financed by the money you save each time you avoid some land line long distance fees.

In one particularly "blabbermouth" month, I used about 900 minutes (almost all of which were long distance) (and, virtually all of which were "off-peak") (easy for me, since I was used to calling a lot of people only after 11:00 P.M., in the "olden days") (now, it is 9:00 P.M. for the good deal)

The 900 minutes were all easily part of my $29.99 per month plan.

What a fantastic deal !

Jon.
