Mayor faces charges for bank robbery PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - The mayor of a Pennsylvania town faces criminal charges for his alleged role in a daring daylight bank robbery last week, police said. Police said Daniel Devlin, the Republican mayor of Upper Darby Borough near Philadelphia, entered a local Mellon PSFS Bank branch Friday wearing sunglasses, a Miami Dolphins jacket and a baseball cap. He allegedly told a teller he had a bomb and demanded cash. The teller turned over $1,500 and Devlin walked casually out of the bank, police said. He surrendered to authorities half an hour later. Press reports said that the mayor, who lost his reelection bid last month after serving a single four-year term, was apparently worried about money because he had been unable to keep his job with the Pennsylvania State Lottery. He was arraigned on charges of robbery, theft by unlawful taking, making "terroristic" threats and receiving stolen property, and then released on bail. Police said a preliminary hearing would be held within 10 days. ^REUTERS@ This is a "Copy Cat" crime...hell Clinton and Gore do the same fund collecting all the time.
