As much as a laser guide on sliding compound miter saws sounded great I recently bought the Dewalt 12" & its a dream. I have an OLD Craftsman 8 1/4" slider too. I found add-on laser guides and bought 2 @ $30 ea. I'll get them on and see how they work. If they work that will make the Dewalt unbeatable in every area (except for paint-- that Yellow is very expensive).
Not sure HD is completely at fault with the tile you bought. I would never think to open a box and look at the packaging as any mfg SHOULD have enough sense to know how to pack his product. Still, the competition requires everyone to look for price,,,, and expect aceptable quality. HD buyers are no different than a DIY guy or contractor. Still,, that was stupid! I picked up 3 boxes at a tile shop once and the 3rd box opened did not contain the product on the label. If it were going in a diff room the avail replacement color may have worked ,,,,,,, but not on the same wall---------- had to tear down, put up new greenboad and start again to get a perfect match,,, now I try to avoid wall tile as much as possible. Never had a problem with floor tile..Opening ea box is a PIA but must be done on everything before I leave the store. Gets to roll around the truck that way but I know what I have. I never had a problem returning anything to HD. Lines have never been long and emp helpful -- even once the customer had lost the receipt............ |
