The wild card is the education spending--if Apple can show two
quarters of profitability, it should help the fence sitters. And if
school districts are as flush with technology grants as we've been
reading, look out.


It depends on whether or not schools have budgets to buy more
computers. Federal budget has 50b+ surplus in '98, where it could
run as high as 100b if everything is running smoothly (based on
Washington Post). Besides, state/county governments have extra
incomes from tax payers due to their increased salaries, investment
gains. Hence, schools will have more sufficient funds to invest in
everyting, including new hardware/software installations. At least,
the phenomenon occurred in where I live.
