Clearly a lie. Hitchhiking and walking for long stretches 30 miles to work every day would mean he had no way of knowing when he'd get there. Shipyard employers wouldn't put up with a tired guy showing up an hour late three days a week. It's just absurd. Clearly a lie - only believed by gullible democrats.
