Could be. Dunno. (I've just started reading The Black Swan so I'm in a frame of mind even less likely than usual to believe any projections. <g>)

If that view is correct, we may incurring huge costs for limited benefits.

That may well be the case regardless of the relative ranking of human contributions to global warming. I doubt it matters in terms of stopping global warming which is holds the top rank. Economically speaking, it could be a plus or minus. It could be a plus if we were to stop throwing virgins into the CO2-reduction volcano. I could be a minus if we compound the problem by also prostrating ourselves before the other contributors.
