Basically that is the mechanical trigger.

MACD is especially valuable when used in conjunction with a momentum indicator such as Stochastic or RSI.

>>>Is there some type of stocks that MACD works better ???
Like the more liquid issues vs. the less liquid issues ...

It doesn't work on stock that are trading flat...that's a given. And that is why I gave you IBM...and SEEK. They are not even the same animals. But in general It seems to favor Stocks which are doing a wave pattern...higher highs higher lows..or lower highs lower lows.

How I first stumbled on MACD was to try and guage a company by the name of CheckFree CKFR which is doing that wave cycle. Punch that symbol in and look at those clear signals....like getting run over by a truck it's so clear. I started pulling some off the tops and then adding it back in at the bottoms...increasing my position as I went along.

Then I started looking at other stocks in my portfolio which I could measure the same way....then...I actually started to apply it. I've been very happy with it.
