Kipp Bedard, who was speaking to investors at the Needham Growth Conference in New York, said that in December PC makers told Micron they expected shipments to decline about 10 percent in the first quarter from the fourth quarter. PC makers update Micron, which supplies them with the memory chips that are used in many PCs, on unit forecasts throughout the year, Bedard said.
