Gene: What money are you referring to? It doesn't take any money to control the price. The specialist will look at coporate news, short and margin orders, etc...all these factors are taken into account by the specialist and then the specialist changes the stock price to maximize their profits. Of course, by maximizing their profits the public must lose theirs.
