Since we don't do IP, I don't know the answer. On the one hand, it does sound like an abuse of the patent, but on the other hand, I don't think the law would require QCOM to license the patent to anyone. That being so, perhaps the law would leave it to the contracting parties to determine what fair terms should be.I know some IP people I can call.I will report what I find out.

Your point about continually adding ingredients to the soup is one that I would take the greatest comfort in, and agree that we should be the source of most of those new ingredients.For any company focused on the future I'd take intellectual capital over intellectual property any day of the week. The best of both worlds, of course, is to have both.
