It has to be the fact that the Cabal that the final "final" UMTS standard is not yet in place, thereby delaying Q's earnings growth. In addition, GPRS's rocky start has cast some doubt on the entire wireless data field.

The savvy institutional investors are apparently forming the notion that WCDMA will be delayed. Nokia's "millions of UMTS handsets in '02" BS is being taken for what it is: a replay of its GPRS BS. Ironically, the facts as are playing out are validating Dr. J's Cannes statement to the press. Unfortunately, being candid, truthful, and correct on this aspect of telecom does not help the stock price.

Perceived delay in WCDMA means perceived delay in Q's earnings growth, ergo stock price falls. I think it is as simple as that, though the subscriber numbers aren't helping, either.
