There is only so much money around, I see now that Welfare Queen for many has a special meaning. The youtube news story I posted was a good example of a Welfare Queen magnitude.

I think the flaw in your reasoning is that you are attaching this example of fraud to the welfare system itself, when it is simply an example of fraud. These fraudsters simply targeted welfare programs to exploit. No different from the docs, nursing home administrators, etc. who are caught and prosecuted for defrauding Medicare. No different from a bank employee caught embezzling a bank or a Madoff caught embezzling his investors.

Fraud is fraud. There's no logical reason in any of these cases for judgment to be passed on the system itself, whether it be government welfare or Medicare or private banking or private hedge funds.

I don't see your youtube news story as anything more than one more example of clever people engaging in fraud. No different than clever people who manage to avoid paying income tax. What's needed in all the examples I listed is more and better enforcment of the laws regarding fraud.
