It's looking more and more like Intel's and AMD's 64 bit chips are going to hit the streets within a quarter or so of each other. AMD's will run the existing base of hundreds of thousands of programs at full speed while Intel's will be a major disappointment unless the buyers run a new, untested OS and all new, untested applications.
