Dave, I think the USSC court would love to set a standard and recount.

The problem is they think that would be rewriting FL. law.

At the same time I think 7 of them have a real problem with the different standards being used on the punch card ballots. Violating equal protection od U.S. federal law.

FL. law says the CLEAR intent of the voter. But sets no standard as to what that is.

No one can set that standard now the election is over.

That violates another U.S. law.

So the only way I see they can rule is to go back to the last machine count. Because that is the only equal standard in FL. law at the time of the election.

How divided will they be?

I think thats why you have not seen a ruling yet. They are trying to write a opinion that they can all live with.

I`ll guess its 7-2.
