Obama is a socialist, as you will learn. i think US now begins a decades-long shift toward socialism, just as Reagan began a decades-long drive toward plutocracy back in 1980. before Obama's two terms are over federal tax rates will top 50%. add in state and local taxes, as well as sales taxes, and people could pay 60-70% marginal rates. it'll be like Sweden, but without the good aspects of socialism. fall of communists provided justification for grand new experiment in US hegemony. likewise, current fall of capitalists (actually plutokleptocrats) will lead to renewed belief in the nanny state, to be led by our savior, Jesus H. Obama. in a couple-three decades, things will be messed up again in a whole nother direction, and somebody will try something else. long live the dialectic! -gn-
