That's entangling two factors. I was speaking to the outing of folks who hold certain political beliefs.

"If you're embarrassed by your beliefs, maybe you shouldn't hold them."

I don't sympathize with anyone who wants to hide his political proclivities but is outed. Perhaps you might suggest why I should.

I'm open about all my convictions. I have to wonder about those who are intent on hiding theirs.

Back in the seventies my employer, the US Army, had an employee evaluation form that included "has the courage of his convictions." In case it's not obvious, a "yes" was the answer they were looking for.

Fostering the invasion of homes by protesters is something else again. I definitely don't support sending an angry mob to anyone's front lawn.
