I wonder if there are other cases where the naz has given back multi-year gains on the onset of a declining economy. It happened between January 1986 and January 1998, trading at 330-340 in both of those periods, after reaching a high of 450 in October 1987. Ditto between Jan 1989 and Jan 1991.
