RNC Trolls Michael Cohen With Video Compilation of Him Vouching for Trump: ‘Have Fun in Prison’

The Republican National Committee (RNC) blasted President Donald Trump’s former “fixer,” Michael Cohen, on Tuesday, telling its former deputy finance director and current vocal opponent to Trump to “have fun in prison!”

The video, which was posted to the RNC’s official YouTube account Tuesday, was released as a part of a war room initiative in anticipation of Cohen’s upcoming Capitol Hill testimony to the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday, according to Fox News. The RNC created a similar war room plan last year when former FBI Director James Comey spoke out against Trump on Capitol Hill.

It contains multiple segments of Cohen speaking in support of the president during his 2016 presidential campaign both on major news networks and while addressing crowds.

In a statement to Fox News about Cohen, RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said:

“Convicted felon Michael Cohen is going to prison for lying, including lies he told under oath to Congress. This whole charade is not about truth, it is a last ditch effort to save face and cast blame on everyone but himself for his crimes.”

Additionally, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders released an official statement on Tuesday, calling Cohen a “disgraced felon” who “is going to prison for lying to Congress.”

Cohen is expected to testify against the president during the public hearing Wednesday. According to the Wall Street Journal, he will publicly accuse Trump of criminal misconduct committed while in office. The Wednesday hearing is the second hearing — and the only open one — in Cohen’s three-day Capitol Hill run.

Prior to his first hearing on Tuesday, Cohen was formally disbarred as an attorney by Manhattan’s Appellate Division, First Department and the Attorney Grievance Committee, according to the New York Post.

Cohen is to report to prison in May after pleading guilty to perjury. He is slated to serve three years.
