Partisan reporters generally end up talking only to the converted. If there is a case to be made, lay out the facts and they should speak for themselves.

The Bectels and Halliburtons of the world are going to work with whoever is in power. Halliburton was close to Lyndon Johnson. Take a look at Carlyle's portfolio. They have probably done more real estate deals than anything else. As for Enron, it is hard to make the case that this administration actually did much of anything for Enron, except try to put management in jail. When the chips were down and Enron was at the brink, the administration told them to take a hike. That is not to say that Enron might not have had some influence if they had not imploded. But they did implode and Skilling, Lay and Fastow are poster boys for corporate wrong doing. BTW, most of Enron's sins took place during the Clinton years. Was Clinton aware of it? Of course not. But that did not stop him from helping Enron in regard to India. Real money involved there.

A President Kerry (please God, forgive me for stringing those two words together) would be dealing with the same people. Should we be relying on foreign contractors for defense related activities?
