Of course he can't let it stand - he's a liberal and a political standoff means he can't "move forward." For him, to fundamentally disagree is putting "ideology over country." Putting ideology "over country" can be less damaging than compromising and going leftist. Compromise, if it's counter to the Constitution, is extremely dangerous and damaging to the country. I'll take principle over Schultz' brand of politics any day.
