What does backward compatible mean? Does it mean that 3G cdma will be able to share the same spectrum with existing IS95 / GSM systems? Does it mean that existing IS95/GSM handsets will work with 3G base staion equipment? If the same 3G base station equipment is to be used for voice and wideband applications, is this equipment going to be bandwidth agile or does it waste bandwidth when being used for voice? Is the compatibility issue only related to air interface? Now that we are switching to "easy migration path" instead on backward compatible, what does it mean? I have waited patiently for these questions to be answered, but if they have I missed it. Please enlighten me or point me in the right direction.

I have owned qcom since 1992 and I am elated with the companies performance. The stock price has always been a roller coaster, but the trend is in the proper direction and the returns haven't been bad. The frustrating part for many of us longer term investors is we kept the faith through the high high risk unproven technology no working systems no profits period. Now we expect the world (street) to realize what this company has accomplished and where it is obviously headed and value it accordingly. It will come. If you want to feel better about the direction of Q, chart its annual revenue over the past 6 years and follow that line out another 5.
