Funny you should mention that. Ammo mentioned that it came from a book by Brin and I said he was a pretty well-known SciFi writer so we went to the library today and Ammo took it out. It looks good... Costner seems to be pretty black-white about human nature. He seems to view himself as a lonely man of great but personally unrealized moral strength forced to fight evil single-handedly and usually unwillingly. If he didn't have a very charming knack for being disarming and self-deprecating, he would be insufferable. But he's got the cutest smile. And Will Patton was great as the villain.
