If we consider human life valuable Mary, then of course we should consider ALL people accountable for their actions.

That is the whole point. At this stage in our (civilzation) development, we do not have a fully developed accounting system. We do not all agree on what is right and what is wrong.

We can't even agree on whether we can kill people or not. For the most part, people can agree that we shouldn't kill each other, except for this, except for that, except for ad infinitum.

And, that is only the beginning of where can't get agreement.

What is the right way to manage health care?

Sheesh, forgetaboutit.

How do we get from here to there where you have a fully developed accounting system?

I think you have to be very tolerant and understand that things are messy. And, if we are to err we should err to the benevolent side.

A lot of people have to be educated. A lot of people have to be nurtured. and, of course there are a lot of people that really can't help themselves.

Note: By being educated, I don't mean to the current standards of education. Education standards will have to improve enormously.
