t4, re risk/reward on puts versus shorts, each to their own. I have one short I made by mistake, maybe two mistakes, not to explain. Had it for 4 plus months now, and am ahead. Looks like I'll make good money on it, if things continue as they appear, since it is SOX stock. If I would have bought puts I'd no doubt lost my total investment, as I was under water most of the time until a few days ago.

I have not had time to study options or even think about them very much. But I doubt short term calls and puts will be my gig. Rather like you and others I'm more interested in selling calls and puts, and maybe in some LT stuff.

If PM's were to pull back here for example, it offhand seems to me that some LT calls, with profits (which I now have), wouldn't be a bad idea. Leverage under the right risk condition is what I would be interested in.
