My apologies if I missed messages concerning this, but to what extent is the earnings shortfall a 1-quarter anomaly? My impression is that modem sales will continue to disappoint 3Com longs, and that a clear picture of 'normal' earnings are not discernible from the recent news. What % of 3Com's profits were expected to come from modem sales? And will we be able to tell from the Q2 report what 3Com would have earned had they not previously built up inappropriate inventory?
