Hey, Michael!!!! Happy (Belated) 50th Birthday!!! I was out of town when you officially turned into an elder(ly) statesman, but I have to say better you than any of us younger turks and chickies or something!! Seriously, all the best to one of the finest writers on SI, a most brilliant and amusing split personality, an honest and open man willing to talk seriously about painful issues, and an outrageous flirt in the guise of . . . well, anyway, Sugar Magnolia told me she wanted to celebrate the festivities with Drygulch Dan!!!! Anyway, I hope you had a wonderful time. I was really touched that Monica tried to contact people via email--it was a caring and thoughtful gesture. When you have sobered up why don't you wheel your chair over here and tell all the Feelies who are still dreading the day what it is really like to hit the half-century mark. There have been a few fisticuffs and food fights over here recently, so be sure to wear rubber clothing and some sort of hard protective gear on your head. That lampshade probably is not quite sufficient!!
