On many personal computers where I do not have a Cisco PIX firewall setup, or another hardware based solution such a dedicated Linux firewall machine, I use the BlackICE defender service running in conjunction with ZoneAlarm, without problems. It's not too memory dependant, quite secure, and a good solution for a standard home PC IMO. FYI...
