Thanks for the post. I may pony up for the lifetime gala, especially if the announcements tomorrow are good!

Bill J--I personally still hold out hope for Apple in education. Their marketshare in education has slipped quite a bit. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that Apple hasn't had a good education computer in years! The all-in-one G3 released last week may change that for the first time in a long time. For the power of the machine, the price is very good, with a 15" built-in monitor to boot. This may help change things for Apple in this arena.

Linda--I also am sorry to hear of your Powerbook troubles, and hope things turn out. Just one note about your new G3 (and anybody feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken!!!), but I don't think you'll be able to upgrade the processor on it. If I'm remembering correctly, the current G3 processors are not on daughtercards so there is no way to "upgrade" to a 375 MHz when they come out. (And I apologize profusely if I'm incorrect).
