Hi Steve,

Although NetBEUI is a small, and fast protocol, it's non-routable, and is contained within Microsoft networks. It's dying a slow death.

On the other hand, it's fine to use for a small LAN, because of it's small footprint. However, when you are combining Internet access, and are using TCP/IP for some clients, might as well scrap it.

As far as sharing goes, as long as the IP addresses and subnet masks are set correctly, and you enable file/print sharing in the Network properties of the machine, everything is fine. You can use Network Neighborhood to browse, or a UNC path directly to the file (ex: \\<computername>\<sharename>\Word.doc)

Simple as that.

Cheers,

Rich
