Huh?! Did he mean he'd never seen that much for AAPL, or in general? If the latter, he must not only be young but also unfamiliar with heavily optioned stocks. CPQ, for example, has many many times the open interest of AAPL. Second, my experience with options is pretty thin, but I have *definitely* had a hard time getting the intrinsic value of an in-the-money call. I had that experience today with IP April 50s, even though at the end of the day the calls finally traded at their intrinsic value.
