I saw that on TV. The reporter said it was about 600 pounds. IMO it was not close to that, but it was a biggin'. When I was a kid I went deep sea fishing with my folks in Hollywood, FL. My sister and I both hooked white marlins at the same time. Mine was 7'2" and weighed only 74 pounds. We had it mounted by Al Pflueger, a famous taxidermist at the time.
I've got a pic if you want it.
The marlin they hooked was a blue or black marlin, a far bigger relative, but not 600 pounds IMO.
It sure looked to me that it intentionally got on board that boat.
To me my days fishing were wonderful times.
