local tv news is a joke... you wake up in the morning and catch local news. shootings.. a couple on the spot people killed in Philly, next house fires, a couple of fires , someone burnt or just escaped. next local weather and maybe a special clip about health that is a national news release. then more national news from last night, more repeat filler tapes. If a snow storm, heavy rains flooding you get someone on location standing in a puddle talking about major flood or standing in three inches of snow talking about a major snow storm.

In the noon time slot you get tapes from killings, and fires from earlier am news report , if lucky you get an update if person injured on his progress, and you might get another inch of snow or lager puddle in a storm and then same health tape. then you stock updates from national feed, political tape from national feed or a local news person reading prompter from a national feed.

nightly news you get more of same and traffic conditions. Who needs local news? They do not spend any time investigating real news on the local level. You will get kids birthday pictures and a few grammar school plays for feed fill in shots on a news program scheduled for 1/2 hour that may only be 18 minutes due to commercials.

i like the web for news. anything on local or national news is old stuff , very limited in nature and slanted to that station interpretation.
