Saw your discussion on volatility and couldn`t help to think about how I see the markets lately (including the nikkei which I play) and my analogy is one of a spinning top (the toy) as it looses speed towards the end of its momentum. The arcs its pointed end traces on the ground as the top becomes progressively heavier to bear... I think that provides a pretty good image of volatility .

I have made this comment on the Japan thread a while back, but here again. The mega funds being formed and entering the market (nikkei as well as otc japan) are pretty good contrarian indicators. Whip the herd and get them in just in time for the drop. The Nikkei and otc are up so much already for the year, while every other fundamental economic indicator is deteriorating...

e trusts start their buying binge? hmmm , smell a rat.
