As Ted and Joe pointed out, as per AMD, Athlons(classic?) were not sold out - they are close to being sold out. As per the Gateway statement, they are moving a good number of their product mix towards AMD. My guess is that the new SKUs would include Duron and Thunderbird based systems.

Now, the increase in orders places Gateway more firmly inside the AMD camp. "We are moving a ton of [Gateway's product] mix towards AMD and Jabil, and in [terms] of magnitude we'll probably double our mix of AMD and Jabil in the current quarter in the consumer space," Todd said.

An interesting question would be - does AMD's guidance of at least 1.8M Athlon sales already based on Gateway's need to double the purchase of AMD CPUs this quarter?
