Given the (painful) slide of 4.125 on Friday, I took the time this morning
to poor over SGI's recent financials in the same manner I treat a new
investment; something I have not done with SGI since the purchase of
MIPS [nothing like an 8K drop in one's portfolio to get your
attention].

I have come up with a book value figure of approximately $8.00 /share.
and a P/E figure of approx 14.0 [based on close of 12 7/8 on 97/04/18].

I have not completed all my calculations, but a downside of $10.00/share
is not impossible.

How do these observations align with those made by others on this
thread? Given that a purchase opportunity is upon us [at a price not
seen in years], I am planning on placing a buy on Monday for 2-5k
shares and am trying to determine if I should place a single standing
order at $10.00 in anticipation of additional downside [ie what is
the possibility that this downward momentum will continue] or
if I should place staggered orders starting at market [or around $12.00]?

Just fishing for additional information and other views as I continue
by DD.
